Peet's Coffee & Tea is a coffee roaster and merchant dedicated to providing freshly roasted whole bean specialty coffee.

Thirty-five years ago Peet's Coffee & Tea introduced the style of dark roasted coffee that is now so popular to the San Francisco Bay Area. In April 1966, Alfred Peet opened the first Peet's — a coffee store with a roasting machine—at the corner of Walnut and Vine in Berkeley, a few blocks from the University of California.

Today, Peet's aspires to educate customers about coffees and teas. Peet's hires employees very selectively, to ensure that they will serve customers in a knowledgeable and hospitable manner. Peet's prides itself on employees with extensive training and coffee knowledge.
